Neighboring Country Impact

At the same time, the north-eastern Polish territory, which likewise adjoins Belarus, has registered in excess of numerous instances in which illegal goods were transported from its neighbor using the weather devices.

Criminal Methodology

In response to questions about why smugglers utilize a method that is particularly vulnerable to weather factors rather than simpler to operate drones, representatives elaborated that "Atmospheric equipment are basic instruments used by smugglers - they are more economical than drones for transporting cigarettes from Belarus."

Border Protection Aims

Representatives further stated that "The goal of law enforcement is to capture the greatest possible volumes of smuggled items and to detain organisers and involved individuals so that this activity become unprofitable and create minimal risk to passenger aircraft."

European Tensions
